A little axe ID

I bought an axe today for 8 bucks, partially for the sweet handle I wanted to throw on my Emerson & Stevens. But the head (a wedge pattern) is stamped SHAW--- (could be partially abraided off), B & D Co. Boston. If this rings a bell with anyone Id sure appreciate knowing who made this. Its not in particularly good shape, unless I want to relegate it to splitting duties I am looking at some serious stock removal on the cheeks.

I'd like info too. Its weird to learn B&D Co was in Boston since its a wedge pattern.

I think the wedge was sort of a new england thing. Maybe they shipped up to the northeastern-er loggers. If it were made in the carolinas or something Itd be really odd though!

This is a good photo of the distinct feature on a wedge pattern-- the wedge shape =D
