A Little Bay walk

Dog time is always good time! Is that fresh or salt water bay? I'd be taking me a fishing pole too!
Yes it is  Salt water your old stomping ground SF Bay :D it's probably only 4 ft. or less deep for a few hundred yards from shore. Fishing isn't the greatest small sharks, stingrays, perch, and once in a blue moon a striped bass.

Awesome. I used to go crabbing down at the bay. Fun times! Thanks for sharing! MTM and I are going to have to get out this weekend, so we can share an adventure post here!

Where abouts did you do your crabbing ? Sounds great , looking forward to that

We crabbed right down the pier near the Fisherman's Wharf. Tie chicken wing to a string, lower, and slowly bring it back up. On a good day, we would catch a 5 gallon bucket full of blues!

We used to catch Dungeoness at Half Moon Bay by the bucketsful too. My cousins would dig up big ol clams with a big ol foot call a geoduck or something like that. It was quite tasty!

Not sure if what we caught in the bay were actual blues or not. They were bluish/greenish in color, but wasn't shaped like the typical Blues down here in the south.

I used to converse with a number of 'Coastsiders' that fished the bay quite often. Crabs, Salmon and Albacore!

Fishing can be great in the Bay :) but you would need a Boat ;) the shorelines were I walk are very shallow unfortunately. I go out there offen, all I see or hear of being caught is small sharks and stingrays . The good fish like the deeper water . You could probably walk out at least 200 yards from shore and never see water deeper than 3 to 4 ft. around all of the southern bay shorelines.

Coastside is a boater's forum indeed.

While I don't fish that far north, boating is boating. Always nice to get ideas from many people. They have some rougher conditions as a rule than we do down south. We don't get but the odd wayward salmon statistically. The bay is enormous!
