If you ever choke way up on your blade this sure is comfy. It is easier on batons if you do that on the regular as well. It is kind of hard to get the photos to show what has been done. Wish you could hold it!

A rounded spine is a nice though; now it might need a coat of paint.

Nice, now strip her and she will look even better....

What did you use to do it?

Interesting. I like jimping along the spine personally. The rounded edge could be cool.

Did you take that to a belt grinder or did you hand sand it?

Belt sander! It is the same one I use to put and edge on my knives. I just used courser belts. Same principal though, rough to fine.

Jimping on the spine would still work and could be done at the base of the blade. For a task like peeling an apple(hardcore I know) the rounded spine is nice. Or for whatever bushcrafty project is at hand.

Nicely done, I like it, good idea. I'd probably keep a small section squared off for a firesteel, but I certainly see this being a good mod:thumbup:

I thought about keeping a portion squared off just for a firesteel. The thing is the factory spine isn't sharp enough to throw much spark and I didn't want to sharpen the spine. Maybe just keeping a piece of hacksaw blade with the firesteel is the way to go?
