actually two, and some people may have already figured this out or knew it all along. Me? I'm sloowwww...

#1. The CG FBM in G10 actually is noticeably heavier than my SHBM. I don't have the actual weights of the knives, but good or bad, you're going to need a little more pep to swing the FBM than the SHBM. I believe the weight difference is primarily from a wider blade on the FBM.

#2. The G10 feels VERY GRIPPY. If it ever slips out of your hand while chopping, it may just take a good hunk of skin with it. I think I am going to prefer micarta, but we'll see.

Oh, and BTW, I got the black blade with blue/black G10 and black blade with green/black G10. Again, in a surprise, I like the looks of the green/black better than the blue/black. I thought it would be just the opposite. Go figure.

I hope this works. I don't get time to post that often and I haven't posted picts before. This is the one I got yesterday. I'm working outside the US right now, so my dad took a few pictures and sent them to me, so please forgive the quick snapshots. I'm sure on_the_edges will be better than mine.

I'm envious of you guys, I won't be home for another 7 months

and then I can play with my FBMs. Merry Christmas all!

Just eye-balling it, but to me, the pic with the SHBM looks closest. Keep in mind that I have not seen these in sunlight yet. The incadescent light bulbs, or the flash, may distort the color a little. I know the one looks really bright. I can't tell though if that is just what it looks like with the camera flash ( and maybe the sun???) or it just looks a little darker when looking at it under normal interior lighting conditions. Sorry, that probably wasn't much of a help...
