Just out messing around in the woods, working on fire building skills. Trying out the Skinny Ash.

I wouldn't want to do a lot of chopping with her, but she'll work in a pinch.

Baton's pretty good on smaller pieces.

I like the Ergo Mistress.

If you don't give your Mistress your full attention, she'll bite you.

Had to call it a day, learned something too. A first aid kit is a good thing to take along. Wasn't deep enough for stitches, but it did keep bleeding. The Ergo's are sharp! Didn't want my Mistress getting used to the taste of my Blood.

Firebuilding didn't go so well, everything was too wet. Something I need to work on.

Here's a few of the LE. Yup after my CG thread, here I went and bought one of the least recommended models.

I like it a lot though, still may pick up that CG eventually. After the Zilla of course. :D

Great pic's and I think the flat grind LE with a convex edge is one of the best "Mistresses" Infact all your blades are top choices! The Skinny is highly regarded....and the BME has the old school balance and feel at an affordable price! Nice one:thumbup:

 I think that Ergo Mistrees bit you because you were eying that new LE Mistress. :D

Looks like you had some fun out there...
and the skinny ASH1 is a great blade!

Thanks for the pics... and CONGRATS on your new FBM LE!!!

.

Heavens! The FBM LE is wonderful ... I've got safe queens AND users. Cause that's just the way I role.

Seriously, the FBM LE is an excellent user.

nice set up!

i have a skinny ash, and still trying to find a bm-e...

btw, i have not even attempted chopping with my skinny ash, and realize it's not gonna be it's "thang"...but in your opinion, how'd she do?
in a things went wrong...gotta do what i gotta do...would she be ok?

reason i ask, i use as my hiking blade, in other words i have no INTENTION on spending the night, or needing a fire...but feel in an emerg/surv situation would be ok, but i have not had the time to confirm this.

what's your take?

nice pics btw!

I found it chops O.K., takes a little more effort than a bigger knife. But it does eat through the wood. Batons the smaller pieces pretty good also, not a long enough blade to Baton the fatter pieces of wood. I think the D ring is a must also for chopping. You really have to choke back on the handle to keep from getting the pinky Bite. D-ring helps keep the knife in your hand. If you need to build an emergency fire, I think it's plenty of knife to get it done. Other opinions may vary, but its a keeper. :D

Thanks Guys.

How did the E handle of your Bm-e feel in your hand? Comfertable?
Btw, nice pics..

The handle feels pretty good in the hand, maybe a little thin. If I recall, I think I was getting a little pinky bite under heavy chopping though. But it is a Knife I would never part with, since it was my first Busse. :D

nice pics. yeah, i learned to bring a first aid kit too after putting a kind of deep cut into my leg a few miles up a steep trail a while back.

Nice set of choppers! That LE is super sweet!! My favorite mistress! It looks like you have some nice forest where you stay at.....Those knives are home in the woods. Well done. Careful not to loose a fingure next time:)

That's it. It is too late. The Mistress has tasted your blood. She can never be trusted again (by you) thus you must hastily send her to me to save your self. :D

 Well, I guess I better drop her in the mail then. I don't want her draining my Blood while I'm in the woods again. :D
