A little dirt/mud time today

Looks like you had a good time. As long as your gear is waterproof and your able to stay warm and dry, then being out in the rain is as fun as anything else.

Whats the "carp fence" for? Is it to keep things in or out of the area?

Damn, that looks like the knife right off Rick's belt - specially so when seeing it eat wood like that! Nice weekend!

Looks like a nice place to get away from the grind LMT, I think I finally found a getaway bush myself.

I need to get out more. The last few outings I have been responsible for a group of 12 - 14 year old scouts.

Brought home a quest. Survived a HD cycle in the washing machine.

ETA: He's in defense mode in the picture but when I back away, he relaxes and looks like a tick. I have him in a small clear plastic jar and it is now hanging from a web inside. Is it a tick or another type of arachnid? It's very flat like a tick. I wasn't aware that ticks can produce webbing.

Nice pics, looks like a good hike. So cool to see the framework is up and intact, strong as ever. I may have to take a hike up and around and check the area out. Been some time since I've been back up there.

That guest looks like a tick... but as you said, webbing eh? hmmm, no guesses from me on that one.

Let us know what kind of work the mice got done to the pack.

BTW, that Kelty is one nice pack!

Thanks for the pics. Seems to me you had a good time out there. Aside from the tick(?) that is.

I have dealt with a lot of ticks and never seen one that went into any kind of defense mode and definitely never seen one that spun a web. it must be some type of spider. that's definitely different
