Finally got a chance to spend an afternoon with my new bhk bushcrafter I picked up for xmas. Its been a bad start to the new year after some personal illness I lost my father 2 weeks ago. So I decided to take some time for myself yesterday.

I set out on a short familiar trail to clear my thoughts. I came across an old fallen tree and decided to try my hand with new knife and ferro rod. After crushing some of the interior pcs I pryed out, 2 swipes on the rod I had a small ember. I built it up to a tiny fire then kicked it into the stream underneath me as I was less than a mile from the ranger station.

All in all it was a nice getaway. Thanks for looking

sorry to hear about your father sir.

glad you got out to clear you head and play in the woods a bit. it always makes folks feel better for sure. it's never easy losing someone you love but playing around with mother nature tends to help ease the pain a bit

My condolences to you and yours.
Away from people and into the woods is where I go when things weigh heavy on my heart.

I like that BHK. Thanks for sharing your day out!

Thanks for the kind words, guys. Much appreciated. The bushcrafter is becoming one of my favs. More traditional departure from my Esee's and Top's. Looks like she will be my go to woods blade for a while. Hope to get out again soon with my 5 year old when the weather let's us.

The BHK bushcrafter has gotten the most use from me over the past year since I got it. Something about the simplicity of it, it just feels and handles perfectly

Sorry about your fathers passing, Hopefully the rest of the year brings more happy times for you. Getting out in the woods always provides some peace and time with my thoughts, and gets the batteries recharged.

very good pics, i'm guessing you were in fairly warm weather since you had summer utilities on. we/ve dropped 60 degrees since sunday. as many blades as i have the spear point bush is one i lack. will have to check on from a custom maker. thanks for showing & i hope the days get brighter.--dennis

Ya. It was about 55 degrees that day. It was in the 70's the 2 days prior. Its a balmy 6 degrees today with about 14" of snow on the ground. About the whole state of Ok shut down last couple days, we're not prepared for that kinda weather here. Only 2 plows locally tryin to clear major roadways.

Sorry about your father.

BHK makes nice stuff. Those bushcrafters look great and seem to get nice reviews. Ive owned a patch knife, and 2 Boat tail Scandis from them.

Nice pics and nice knife,

I've always liked the bushcrafter
