well, i just got my blue handled spyderco chinese folder a couple of days ago and i'm a little disappointed. overall it's a very nice knife. I think it's simply beautiful; however, i have a couple of complaints. The almite coating isn't on perfectly straight, the parallel lines of exposed aluimum towards the inside of the scales is not straight, the almite coating is put on all curvy (which is not really a big deal since this IS a production knife) also there are two pits on the insde of the blade right around the area of the pivot pin. it's not really noticable since it's basically inside the handle. also the liner lock doesn't seem to engage easily, you have to pull the blade out hard to engage, seems like the stop pin is slighty too forward. lastly there are two very small parts where the almite coating chipped off in the middle of the handle. obviously these are small problems but for a over 100 dollar knife i expected a little better

I just got my green Lum a couple of days ago and haven't experienced any of the problems that you're having with yours, Manji. If you are not happy with your Lum, you can call Mike at the Spyderco Warranty and Repair dept. and explain your problems and concerns to him. I'm sure that he'll be more than willing to take care of you.

One thing that really puts Spyderco above other competitors is the EXCELLENT Customer Service dept.. They are truly a cut above the rest. ;)

Good Luck

well like it said it's not that big of a deal but maybe i'll give them a call and see whats the deal, the thing is i hate sending out my knives out and waiting for them to come back

I know what you mean about the wait. I sent my Native back for the complimentary sharpening and was without it for a little over a week. When I got it back, it was as good as new.:)

I'm sure that they'll solve your problems, or just send you a new Lum.

Hope everything works out for you. Good luck :D
