Some time ago I sent an email to Buck asking how I could order one of their custom 110s and have it shipped to Oz. No reply.

Somebody here gave me a name to send an email to. I did that and got a reply fairly quickly asking me for what I wanted and where I lived and they'd get back to me with costs and directions on how to order. I sent all that and about two weeks have gone by and no reply.

Am I too impatient? Two weeks seems like a reasonable time to let me know what's happening. Are communications with Buck normally slow?

I believe they recently let some of their staff go.
They might be hard put just now to keep up.

howdy gajinoz!
well... you did pick a rather busy time to ask them !
they Jest completed hosting the 20th year of the Buck collectors club meetings!
i was there and i can assure you Joe and all his staff were working long over time hrs to assure the celebration went great ..

normal time to receive a custom in the usa is posted on the web site as 8 to 6 weeks. i discovered ALL custom orders ARE made ONE at a time!!
they are not set up as a different one on a assembly line!
In talking with those that work on the customs i was surprised at how few over seas orders are received compared to domestic orders.
My impression is that they are looking for ways to set up and to streamline over seas orders.
from being at the plant- watching the knives being made and talking over lunch with them - i feel i can personally assure you they are trying to solve the glitches that have come up in the over seas ordering process.

as said they had some recent personal movement along with new job duties for some... give them some time and a follow up email or two ..:)

OK, thanks for the replies guys. I'm not really in any rush so I'll just relax for a while and maybe send another email if I haven't heard from them in a week or three.

I think he keeps it in "the jar"

Gaj...there is a bunch going on and our people know that quick response with both product and information is the goal. Send me what you need and I will make sure it is followed up on.

Just got an update from the Buck guys. My knife is being made and I should have it in a couple of weeks. :)
