I'm reaching out to any forum member who has a favorite Bussekin "EDC"... I don't own enough yet to have developed a feel for the "perfect" & easily concealed edc (...if there is such a thing!?!) In addition, most of mine are/would be considered medium to very large, and as such are very impractical for edc.

Please share what you carry, how you carry it, and why it's arguably the best edc... Is it the SAR 3, Warden, CABS, something I've never heard of, ...???

Opinions count here, as I've made purchases based on "forum opinion", and have not been led astray yet!

Thanks!!!

Skeleton Warden in my pocket. I have had most of the smaller Busse knives at one time or another, and the skeleton warden is just perfect.

Edit: more info- carried in a square kydex neck sheath, which can be put on my neck with the chain, but usually sits in my left front pocket. It has a thin convex edge.

I think the Meaners would make a great EDC. Still trying to find the perfect one to make as my EDC. I think you need to handle them to figure out what would be the best for you. Good luck with your search.

Busse HACK Bear Cub on my keychain in some Chuddy Bear leather.

(Never mind the fugly keyless GM remote. It died and got replaced!)

One day soon...A fella can dream, can't he??? ...It will be the Busse folder too. ;):D

I've carried the SAR3, the AD, and the CABS. The AD didn't last long because while I liked the handle, I didn't feel in locked into my hand securely enough. Almost as if it would be easy for my hand to slip forward onto the blade. The CABS has a great blade length, great handle that sits secure in my hand, but the tip was too thin/delicate. My first time using it to process wood/bushcraft in the outdoors the tip bent w/out much "hard use." Finally the SAR3: of the three it is my favourite. Compact, stout, secure in the hand, and thick enough blade stock to hold up well under "hard use." These are the only three I've handled/owned; can't comment on the others. Just my .02

I'm in CO, Eastern Rockies, we have a 3.5" blade limit , so that limits my choices.

Over the years these have been, are my EDC rotation.

GW, SAR-3, Culti, AD

I wear the SAR-3 on my belt behind my SuperTool in a MashedCat kydex w/ loop.

The Culti I wear IWB in Kydex w/ no attachment. I often forget I have the Culti there, dropped in the toilet more than once :o.

The GW and AD I wear IWB on the right in Leatherman Randall pouch sheaths with clips.

The Culti sees the most use round town, the SAR, AD go out on the trail.

waiting for a SLUT-thinking of making it my EDC- Have a SAR3, and with steelnut kydex it is a perfect little EDC

What is the Rinaldi?

Yep, pretty darn cool...has 2 of those rare earth magnets as extra insurance to keep the knife in place. It will literally "suck" the knife into the sheath.
Chuddy Bear is the man!!

That is an older style Shivworks/Trace Rinaldi Li'l Loco in S30V. Sharp li'l bastid too. ;)

I wear a Busse Meaner Street in Mashed Cat Kydex. I live in Maryland, so I have to carry fixed blades openly. Most of the time I forget the knife is there. It's not the lightest of the Busse EDC knives, but I don't mind the extra couple ounces as opposed to carrying an Active Duty.

I really hate sounding "Prac-Tac" and it came about because I was drunk, but I put SHBA on upside down on the front of my belt on the left side right above the pocket. With an untucked shirt it covers the blade entirely. From empty hand to instant proper positioned knife in a flash....I found I rather liked it. Simple low ride kydex sheath, doesn't rub when sitting and don't even notice it while standing.

Nice! ...That sounds like it might be an interesting fit...could you post a couple of pics for us?

I would have to get Lady Gravel to photograph and she is in bed, but I would be more than happy to tomorrow.

I suppose you could turn the blade's edge to the right for a tip up draw, but I keep the edge to the left for an underhand hold. I found most positions for concealed carry involved too much reaching around to get to the knife. I used to carry a fixed blade IN the pocket, but retrieving the knife from the pocket and separating the knife from the sheath...too many steps with too much fumbling. Neck knives.....yeah reaching under your shirt doesn't look ridiculous if you need a knife for self defense and wearing it outside you would look like a cross between Rambo and Flavor Flav, don't even get me started with all the behind the back reaching and stretching......that is where my pistol is. Draw the knife with my off hand...create distance to draw pistol with right hand, empty magazine...reload...repeat. Or if NEED be, strike with the knife.

Folder is most commonly in my pocket, but in high stress situation, fine motor skills are the first to go and being able to draw the folder (which clipped to your pocket is highly visible and an attacker would see) leaves too much to luck.

Not sure if the descriptions help drawing a mental picture or not?

at current I have not EDC'ed a fixed blade, but that is about to start taking place, it will be the skeleton warden as RF stated above with a Chuddy Sheath, freshly made and then on to the SAR 3 for rotation purposes

I am more in favour of a front right pocket carry with a catch hook on the spine side of the Kydex, I have carried Hairy Carry 4(favourite at the moment), Swamp wardens(definitely the most carried and used), Scabs(only once, I am a wimp), awaiting Boss Street terror Monkey and Meaner Street(inbound), and Solutions awaiting the email confirmation to Ding. I use inner waist band with smarter attire.

Swamp warden has to be my best all time go to tool, I always have it with me- mostly back pocket now.

Good luck with your choice.

Cheers,
Guy
