I put some extra work into this razor. It's a custom order and the customer ordered it rustic looking. I think this fits.

Looks nice! But will the top area corrode in use because of the finish? The smile in the blade is well done, what is the grind on this one?

This blade is hand forged, it is not a finish or something applied. After heat treat and grinding I dip it in ferric chloride to darken it, then buff off the top surface. A coating of protectant is in the buffing compound. Any one using this razor should protect the finish with oil. That is standard razor maintenance. I do not worry about corrosion on these blades. The smile in the blade comes from using the round face hammer to shape it. The grind is a half hollow which is about all I can do on a smile blade.
