Hi there;
If anyone could give a little guidance it would sure be appreciated. I need to change out the scissor spring
on my victorinox SAK, but can't figure out how to do it. Does anyone know where I can find some instructions
on the net? Or can anyone give me some info about this??

Thanks

John

I replaced my spring about a year ago. First, make sure your spring is the correct one for your knife.

My spring has a tight loop on one end that fits in a notch on the scissors. It is designed to be a tight fit so it doesn't fall out. One side of my loop seemed to have a little bevel on it, so I carefully press fit that side into the notch so as not to damage the spring. I used a pair of small, smooth jawed pliers to coax mine in and it took 10 -20 minutes for what I thought should have been a 15 second job.

Thanks for the info guys. The spring removal has been driving me crazy. It's become a quest at this point. The hole for spring is partially covered, which makes the spring removal almost impossible. It appears that the scissor has to be removed so that there's clearance to get the spring loop out. I'm going to call the number that's referenced by obsessed with edges. Hopefully they can shed some light on what I originally thought was a fairly simple job (boy was I wrong).

I accidentally broke one once... I actually fixed it by bending the remaining part so that it pushed against the other blade. And I think it's way more reliable this way (resembles the Leatherman style of scissor spring.) This is assuming that your spring broke at the curve of the "U" shape.
