Can't decide between these two:

I'm a little more partial to the longer blade on the Military and orange is sweet to my eye not to mention S30V is a fave too. That being said the D2 and flat gind on the para with those foliage green scales is just begging to be bought.

Getting both is not an option at the moment. I'm leaning towards the Millie. Help me over the fence guys or pull me the other way. TIA

Tough choice. My two favorite EDC's right now. I have the D2 para in my pocket as I type from work. The hard part about the decision is the D2 Para is gone except whatever remains in stock and we may never see CPM D2 again while the Orange Military is a Sprint Run too but with standard S30V.

If you want to snag the CPM D2 from Spyderco before the availability is gone for good then that's your choice but the Orange Militarys are going to become scarce even if the steel is regular S30V.

It may boil down to, do you want an Orange scaled Military with S30V more than a FG scaled Para that has CPM D2. Crucible is in Chapter 11 . . .

My personal choice between any Military and Paramilitary is Military first with the Para as a very close second.

Get the D2 Para, its an awesome knife and has not been confirmed to be a regular offering by Spyderco. The orange Millie is in the Spyderco 2009 catalog supplement, they decided they are going to make it as long as people want it.

See: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showpost.php?p=7014166&postcount=17

Conclusion: Get the Para. At least if you're worried about missing out on one or the other.

If you have no plans to get the other once you have what you picked, disregard whatever I said ;)

I have both, and even though I am a BIG Orange fan, I have to say if I had to get one, it would be the Para. I like the size better, the compression lock is cool, D2 steel - just a great knife that is more to my liking then the Orange Millie.

Well hell!!!

You all made so much sense in your arguments I decided to get both after all. ;)

Almost bought another gun this past Friday at auction and the wife didn't didn't say a word and it was way more than these two knives. Maybe she still won't say a word :D

The Orange Millie will go great with my orange Kershaw Tyrade and the price at Cutlery Shoppe is one of the best I've found.

OH man!! Those two pair up better than I imagined. Something about that orange color just makes me smile. Got my daughter an orange Kershaw Zing to go with my Tyrade (The Tyrade was a Fathers Day gift to myself so I got her the Zing as I wouldn't be a father if it wasn't for her, plus she loves the color orange). I'll have to post photos of all three.

The gun was a Colt Detective Special, 2nd Generation from the late 60's. About 98%, all original, (no box or anything). I dropped out of the bidding at $400 which was more than I wanted to pay having just bought two NIB Colt Agents last month for $500ea. It went for $475.

If you managed to place the order and received a confirmation, you'll get it. Jeff is a stand-up guy.

I received an email immediately after ordering that stated the following:

Thank You For Your Order xxxx xxxxxx

Your Order Number Is: XXXXX

Date Of Order: 7/13/2009 7:51:00 PM

Order Status: New Order

Does that constitute an order confirmation?

I can't help you with your order confirmation issues, but I wanted to congratulate you on purchasing two of the best utility knives available!

Excellent choices.

I am in like Flynn!!

Just got my order confirmation email so I did get the Para. Yahoo:thumbup:

Wonder if I'll get my order this week?

Love Cutlery Shoppe. Jeff said I did get the last D2 Para he had and my order shipped today. I'm a happy camper but hope that it gets here by Saturday so I'll really, really be happy. :)

Thanks Jeff:thumbup:

Congrats on snagging a VERY fine knife that will no longer be readily available ;) And at a stupidly good price to boot!

WOW!!!

Just got an email that my order has been delivered. Mailed from Idaho Wednesday night and in my mail box in VA on Friday afternoon. That is fantastic. The next 75 minutes are gonna drag. Just hope the wife got home before the mailman came up our street. It's day like this that I perfer to "get the mail" if you catch my drift?

Thought I'd post some initial impressions on my two new Spydercos.

First impression is that the Military is BIG!!

Second impression is that the Military is BIG!!

Third impression is that the Para feels really good in my hand!

Fourth impression is that both knives are really, really sharp!

Fifth impression, see 1st and 2nd impression!!!

I like them both a lot. I'll play with them over the weekend and see how they fit into my routine?
