I have these two knives, and I was wondering?
Who made the Burnt Chimney? It appears to be a single blade trapper style, with like a torched natural jigged bone.It is stamped Burnt Chimney, and Stainless Germany.

The other question I have,is on the Stag Henkels lockback. What do you think something like that is worth? The stag is gorgeous, the fit and finish is real tight. It is marked forged stainless, has 0432/1000 stamped on the bolsters that appear to be nickle silver. The design on the blades is stamped, not etched, and colored. Sorry for the picture quality. If anyone can give me an idea to some answers it would be appreciated,Thanks in advance,Vince

On the Edge of the Burnt Chimney box ,is printed , "Grand Sir Samuel Leander Fowel Hardin"

If we could have a closer look at that small medal that could possibly be helpful ?
Otherwise I have never heard about Burnt Chimney yet. :D

I got my father one of those Henckels for fathers day. I believe it was about $40, but it may have been on sale for that.

Wolfgang,The design of the stamping on the shield,is pretty much exactly like the box cover. My picture will never capture this detail,I have to use a magnifying glass to make it out.
On the edge of the lid to the box,is printed,"Grand Sir Samuel Leander Fowel Hardin"

Rivit,Where were they available? I have searched for info, and came up blank??

Thanks Bill,I knew they had to be contracted for or by someone else.Boker makes sense, and like it says in your thread, the fit and finish is pretty dam good on these.

Hi I was going to say that the first knife looks remarkably similar to the burnt bone Henckels' knives. Now that makes sense from the link posted by El Lobo as I belive they are both made by Boker.

This is like having my own private panel of consultants!!LOL!!Thanks...

For making it sure I just asked at german Messerforum.
The president of Böker Baumwerk Company, Mr. Felix-Dalichow, is moderator of the Böker subforum there. If it`s Böker made he will definitely know!;) :D

I got the Henckels from Walker Knives. The owner is a friend of mine, but he does not sell online.

I own a couple of Burnt Chimney knives and they are of ver good quality.

Only place I have seen them sold in the past (over 10 years ago) was Smky. Mtn. Knife Works.

That metal shield basically has the same logo as the circle on the box.

Did not get response from Böker directly but a german forums mate who owned a Burnt Chimney knife got the information by Böker that his knife is ~ 10 years old.
That`s why I`m pretty sure ;) they made (make?) them!:D

Today I got the answer from Mrs. Felix-Dalichow of Böker Solingen, that Burnt Chimney is one of their collectors series under kind of private label.
Thanks a lot to Mrs. Felix-Dalichow! :D
