I`m in the process of reducing my standard knife models, and would appreciate some help in selecting what you all consider the "keepers." I`m not going to totally get rid of anything, but I am trying to reduce the sizes of steel I keep on hand.

Let`s hear your choices. What should stay, what should go, what should be added!

Kephart 8 5/8" oal, 4 1/4" blade (bearthedog photo) $140.00

5" blade, 3/32" or 1/8" thick, and are 9 1/2" overall. APCK (All Purpose Camp Knife) $100.00

Camp Knife - 10 3/4" overall, 6 1/4" blade, 1/8" thick ($160.00) or 3/16" thick ($165.00), and 1 1/2" tall.

I'm wondering why you don't keep them all and build them to order. All of your designs have reasons for being and while they may not all sell well, who's to say people that have that need won't come along and order one.
You are getting more exposure with your ad in Backwoodsman and word of mouth from us here. I think you should keep them all and fill orders when they come in.
Don't limit yourself.
Just my devalued two cents.

Could designs be tweaked a little bit to use the same barstock for more of your knives? Like has been said I wouldn't limit your models. I think the current economic situation is to blame for your lagging sales, if we all had some more disposable income you'd be scheduled through next year.

But if you want to eliminate models I would say keep:

EWOK
Hiker
Scout Jr
Kephart
Skeletonized necker (this may be next on my list)
B & T
new firewallet
LRK
HB
Nessmuk
 
Here is what I would keep:
EWOK-great little knife
Kephart-traditional drop point~4"
Scout Jr.-somewhat tactical ~4"
HB-great looking with many sizes
UBOT-or some other no scale small knife LRK,Necker

That is I think should be the *bare* minimum. I think you should also have the Camp Knife and B&T in there for now to see how they do, also the Urban Backup for another small knife.
 
It looks like the R.U.S.K did not make the cut.

I am a little sad, as it is the nicest knife I own, and definitrely the best one you have built for me, so far.

All models are still on my website, I edited the "Models" sticky with a link to the standard models page on my site. If I went by sales of each model alone, all I would have left would be the Hiker and Kephart!
 
I really likeed the new Tanto and the APCK. Still need a EWOK and Hudson Bay.
 
I hope you keep the EWOK and the Scout Jr... they are both on my wish list. Then there is the LOBO... love that one too.

Once I nail down what handle material I want I'll be ordering at least 2 of them.
