My Brother called and asked if I wanted to hear something funny,I said sure :D
He purchased one of those electric, funky battery operated push mowers last year from Sears w/ extended warranty. Well this year it has been acting up and he took it to his local Sear for warranty , Some young 17 year old kid pops up and said awe man another one of those electric mowers...I know exactly what the problem is with it ,have it fixed in a week, so my brother asked do they have a recall on them, the Sear kid replies no ..The carburator has been give us fits.... and wrote up the repair ticket as Carburator issues.:D
he is waiting for the mower to come back to see if they charge him for a new carb... He is going to talk to the manager when he picks up the mower ,I told him I want to go.... The carb on my Dewalt drill been acting up too :D

That's awesome. Tell him to also make sure that they check the FI mapping. Might be a bad fuel/air ratio. LOL!

That is great! I know the type, give him $7.56 for something that costs $ 5.56 and ask for $ 2.00 in quarters back for the kids lunch money...he calls for the manager!

Tony, could it be the mass air flow sensor on your brothers mower????? ;)

Tony I can save your brother some money, just replace the fuel filter and he will be set!

I agree with tanker, funny and sad, actually very sad!

I'm sure its running too rich, too much fuel. Or maybe check that the butterfly valves operate properly.

Today's youth, will now how to hack into a porn site, but won't be able to start up a chainsaw, that is unless its electric of course.

You should hear what some pretty boys pilots can say to the mechanics. Piston engine can be very tricky to start when hot and most of them flood them completely until the exhaust lights up and finishes on the tarmac, and its always the mechanics fault because they "know" that the engine ALWAYS starts up with 3 injections and 5 prop turns, so its not the pilot the problem :).

Hey Tony, don't forget to have your brother tell the kid to check the blinker fluid befor he leaves. that's a very funny story!

That's hilarious! Wonder where that boy will be in 5 years & what he will be doing?

I've had guys tell me that they've checked the power steering fluid on both non-power VW,s and electric assist Honda's, but by far my fave was a guy who told me for sure that the front diff of a rear axle only drive dually was needing an oil change..... wonder what he was looking at! glad I don't work there any more!
best to be silent and thought a fool.......

The only way to fix your mower problem is to use a metric adjustable wrench and a left handed screw driver !!:D

Did the kid have to fill out a ID10 t form to get that job?
My mower did the same thing last week. I fixed it with a left handed hammer and a new muffler bearing.

sorry double post... I think the U joint on my key board is going out.

Sounds like one of my buddies in high school. He was home trying to get his car to run. I went over an asked what the problem was (it was a VW Beetle -- this was looooong before the new ones). He was sure that the water pump went on it. I said, if it has a water pump on it, that's definitely the problem.
He didn't get it.

Oh, make sure that the kid checks the 710 reservoir. . .;)

H mm, it's fumy I though last year they upgraded it with fuel injected model instead of the old carburetor one. Lol.
