Got an order for a forge finish small hunter. The guy was very specific about the measurements but he's an old friend so I listened. (for the second knife I made.
) The carving in the sheath is from a drawing he sent me.
Here's the result.
O1 steel.
blade 2 3/4"
OAL 5 3/4"
handle- spalted maple
This one was edge quenched 3x ala Ed Fowler and it produced an interesting band of finish between the edge quenched area and the forge finish. It's got a pebbled texture and I think it really adds interest. If anyone has an explanation, I'd be much obliged.
