Hello All,

My dad just bought me my first knife (a Frost Cutlery) side-opener. I was so fascinated with knives that I began doing some research online and found bladeforums. I've always been a fan of knives and knife use, especially in movies and such. Haha. To further my collection, I figured I would start off small and inexpensive and bought a Schrade Nitro today. Im not a service member and spend a moderate amount of time outdoors, so my knives will be mainly used as EDC's and collectibles. Thanks for very useful information so far!

Welcome to Blade Forums Atraleo. You will learn a lot of great stuff from the guys and gals here. Not to mention how they will teach you ALL the evil ways that you can empty your wallet for that "one" knife that you just HAVE to have! :D:D

Welcome!

im newish too, one thing i've learned since i first started collecting is when you have a bunch of "cheap" knives, as soon as you start buying better quality....you'll be wishing you wouldve just saved up and bought better knives(you get what you pay for). thats the best advice i have for a fellow newbie! welcome!

thanks for the warm welcome guys. This is one of the most welcoming and responsive forums I have been a member of. I definitely understand the "get what you pay for" mantra, but figured I would better start off with something inexpensive just in case I break it from ignorance or lose it. But I definitely plan on buying some higher quality knives as I progress. For now, my Frost and Schrade will do the job. :)

Haha! I already have some knives that have caught my eye, but I am committed to being patient and let this hobby progress naturally. Im a full time worker/student, with a very expensive car hobby, so this is going to be something I follow when I have some extra cash laying around, and I dont have the good sense to save it. ;)

Depending on the severity of your condition your car funds could easily become your knife funds :)

I suggest putting your money in a piggy bank that can only be opened by breaking it, less chance of careless spending. Sorry I have no suggestions for the itching, dry mouth, or panic attacks.

Welcome to BF :)
