So, a friend of mine just got back from Nepal-she used to teach at a martial arts school I gave the occasional seminar at. Turns out she brought me a little 7-1/2" blade chiruwa noname villager khuk that just happens to be heat treated pretty darn well, and it's scruffy enough to be a work knife.did a little kydex for it while stuff was cooling in the forge this afternoon:image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg
I didn't have the tek-lok in the shop, so the holes could be better spaced-but with unriveted 3/16" holes for the second screw the possibilities are endless.
Including upside-down shoulder harness carry...that should end well...:D

I never much cared for the Tech Loks. I started just lacing that bungee cord / para cord stuff thru the eyes and making belt loops that way. It allows a little movement if you snag something walking or in my case rolling by. Kind of flexible.
You can get the stuff in different diameters, you'd definitely want the biggest stuff for that. A lot of size and weight to deal with.

I like that behind the back. Upside down shoulder carry would be wicked cool too.

Phil- retention is great for normal carry, adequate but not perfect for inverted. I'll probably spot form the sheath to the cho if I'm going to invert. Bawanna- I'm not wild about tek-loks either, but they do go on and off easily. I started buyin them for the knives I make so folks would have the option, and i goof around with them now and again. I usually static cord my kydex and carry IWB. The big tek-loks are better with stuff this size- this one is 3/8"+ thick and maybe 12-1/2" OAL. The back carry is nice but it's a bummer to resheath. I wanted to run the kydex further up the hilt on the back side for a little protection, but if I'm making stuff for myself I try and use scraps, not sellable stuff...:(

I carry the little 15" copy of that victorian khuk in a hilt-up shoulder rig at shows just for a laugh (and because I've got about 50 custom knives with me). Hides under a dickies short sleeve work shirt, and I'm not a big dude. Pretty entertaining to see the looks folks give you when that comes out...

I like it man, looks very functional. I am actually a big fan of kydex, just dont tell anyone:D

I can't believe he said that. I'm gonna go wash my eyes out with bleach and pretend I didn't read that. Blasphemy I say, blasphemy!
