They aren't for everyone but that just leaves more for me!

And tip up forever!!!

I like them too. have many different types of them. have you tried the magnacut ones? my favorite is the 1660BG. just standard kershaw steel both with a mirror finish boron carbide coated blade and handle with gold colored anodized clip and screws. unfortunately very hard to find.

Just recently was thinking about adding either the blue or red magnacut version and instead found a half price Blur.

Never saw the boron carbide coated model, it does look interesting and didn't seem like a huge markup price.

at the time it was sold it wasn't. the first one i acquired was when they were readily available for $60. they were a limited edition that disappeared very quickly. took another decade to find one NIB at a reasonable price. the chive version of it may still be available but are to small for my hands. more power to you if you can find one! every site will show them as out of stock in my experience.

I once found a Leek on the road that had been run over a few times. The knife was open and the body was squished, essentially making it a fixed blade. Even still, it seemed like a cool design! I gifted it to a friend and it lives in his truck as an emergency back-up.

very cool! the basic knife design is pretty simple. iv'e taken apart numerous leeks and was able to tweak them by screw pressure and location to get them working again. very tough knife and configuration

So good !
That pointy point totally works for me (kind of an extra civilized Para 2 blade shape ish). But I own quite a vast array of pry tools and so NEVER need to pry with my knife. Guess I'm blessed in that regard.

I'm a sucker for the "handle forward" scales; I think that's Sal's term. I find myself buying Cold Steels with thick blades that I don't even need just because I like that handle feature so much. Maybe I'm subconsciously looking for a !eek with a robust handle but the same thin blade. . . . yeah . . . that could work . . . for me.

A year ago or has it been four now . . .
I was way into buying these and swapping the composite blades into handles scales I preferred. I just counted 8 leeks. I sure like to look at the carbon fiber but prefer the bit more traction the bead-blasted aluminum offers. I was surprised how much I like the purple. Before I had it in hand I would have said I would NEVER carry a knife that color but with the composite blade it might just be my favorite.

Very recently I bought a blue Scallion and then a . . .
a . . .
pink Chive.
THERE I said it.
Using the voice of Jimmy Carry when he says "WHAT'S HAPPENING TO ME ! ! !?" and "WHAT'S THE DEAL ! ! !?" I, just now, began to get very worried about my mental state !
then
I was able to relax when I suddenly remembered the only color the Chive is currently offered in bead-blasted aluminum (AFAIK) is pink. And I absolutely wanted to try a Chive.
Again quite nice in hand. The pink works and is toned down by the gray clip, gray blade and gray liners . I was very surprised I had over looked these for so long.
Inexpensive, has that great handle forward design on both. ALL GREAT GREAT PRODUCTS !

"Chive . . . too small for my hands"
I can relate.
Think of it as a knife one just grips with thumb and index finger for eye surgery . . .that sort of thing.
For instance another knife I am ecstatic about and carry every day now, not just an EDC 🙃, is the small Case (Vault Series) Swell Center Jack. Often I remove (cut off) the small blade. (I have a few of those now) Even smaller in some ways than the Chive but a brilliant knife when you need it for that sort of thing. 👍
