I'm easily entertained, so I'm probably the only one that gets a kick out of this stuff... but I figured if anyone would appreciate this they'd be here.

Just a handful of shots of the latest one coming off the bench.... well, the hamon in that piece that is. ;) :)

Thanks for looking :)

Thanks my friend! :)

I came back to add that the knife is done other than the pin through the handle..... but it's going to a guy that can actually take a great photo of it, so I'm leaving that end of this to him ;) :)

AFTER it goes to my leather crafting hero Paul Long.

That is a great looking blade, Nick. It's too bad it got stained so badly. Do you think you'll be able to polish those cloudy lines back out? If you keep it in a nice sheath they won't be noticed as much:D

Paul

You're cranking those things out like a machine Nick. ;) :)

And it's certainly good to see um.

I wish for a hamon:o

:D

I can't imagine what it's like playing with it in the light. Mesmerizing comes to mind. I’ve heard tell of clouds and such, which makes sense looking at your blade.

Please feel free to share any small details like this.

Is it even possible to photograph the hamon in a respectable way? The shades infer depth to me.

Can you capture it on a webcam as you roll the blade?

Glad you're finally getting the hang of it, Nick! What, I only asked for that 10 years ago?!?!?! LOL!!!! :D

And the blade itself looks good, too!!! ;)

And am really glad to see you back in the saddle again and producing some of the finest stuff to grace this forum!

Anyone who can make a hamon "pop" like that has my vote. Thanks for sharing.

BTW: What is the steel?

Gary

AWESOME Nick! The hamon looks like an angry sky. Nice looking blade shape. Hope to see it when done.

Peter

The blade looks like a mirror showing the edge of a cloud bank. Way Cool!
Is this the knife you were working on with the Koa handle?
I am sure whatever you use for handle material is going to look great.
Can't wait to see the photos of the completed knife.

Really, Really nice Nick!

Why anybody would hold a knife for a photo with thier big toe is beyond me....But at least trim that thing, will ya.:D
