So, the weather was beautiful today, i was off & daughter (TwinStick Jr) was out of school for a week. I hit the tri-fecta. Loaded up the knife bin in the Power Wagon & off we went. I showed her some spots i kinda chopped my way into last hunting season. Looks MUCH different at the end of summer vs now.
So, first off, i made some simple mods that make a HUGE difference, to the BK4 sheath.
I had some split D-rings i bought from a hardware store. Used 2 Leatherman tools & bent the split apart enough to slide the sheaths belt loop in. Then bent it back & attatched a double snap belt keeper to it for attatchment to your belt. While the stock sheath already has that feature, when the handle is double strapped in, it becomes solid.
Added a shoe lace for a leg tie.
It now allows total freedom of movement when working, squatting, bending, getting into/out of vehicles, etc...
So, off we go, trimming trails & shooting lanes for deer season.
If you look closely, you can see the elusive TwinStick Jr (a rare sight indeed), trimming a shooting lane with the BK4. She seemed to really like the BK4.
Another rare sighting.
The BK4 & the King.
Now, this pic, we don't know WTH this is. ^ Some kind of natural hybred ? It looks like 2 totally different kind of trees. Kinda looks like a birch crossed with something else ??? Anyone know ?
Well, thats the end of our little outing. There was a fairly good sized tree down, maybe 18" or so in dia across the path. Didn't even need the lockers, just 4 Hi, 1st gear, swaybar disconnected & it idled right over it. That was fun. Hope you enjoy the pics.
