A little piece of A2 tool steel.
A little piece of Ebony for handle insert.
A little piece of Sterling Silver for the shell.
A little bigger piece of Ebony for the stand.
A little piece of Jigsaw work.
A little piece of deep relief engraving.

A2 tool steel. HT by Paul Bos, 58HRC, cryo. 3/16 in the thickest exposed part of the blade. ~1-1/2" in the widest place. Flat ground. 7" OAL. 5/16" in the thickest point on the handle.

I moved it in the sale area.

Very nice! I like the way the carving overlaps the edges of the inset.

Size is not everything, this is proof.

Fred, I took a look at your knifes. They are just amazing! I really appreciate your good words about my work.
Mr Purple, dlpierson - thank you guys.

I'm not a big fan of art knives. However, that is one example that's both a true art piece/sculpture, AND a usefull knife. Dmitiri.M, I salute you.

Bruce, GibsonFan, Ronnal - thank you.
Bruce, I would love to learn from you some day.
Ronnal, how do you see the tutorial?

Gorgeous knives as always Dmitry... how long have you been in Austin? That's only about 100 miles away from me.

another great one Dmitry. So when are you going to start forging your own damascus so you can REALLY make us all feel like a bunch of no-talent hacks:D

That's not an art knife.....that's Tsar Nicholas' EDC:)

Kerry, Keith, dialex - thank you.

Dmitry... how long have you been in Austin?

Almost 6 years with one missed year. And thank you.

JDM61 - I am working hard to make it happen in April-May. Trust me I love what others do and I have no intention to bring anybody down or something.
And thank you.

Dmitry,

I was thinking along the lines of a step by step description on how you draft the pattern, how you transfere it to the metal, what tools you use, etc etc ...how you proceed to acheive the end result. Preferably with ilustrations and/or pictures to help understanding the process.

Something like this:

I know it is a lot more work than it appears, and I know it is a lot to ask.... BUT it would be very nice to learn such a skill.

Best regards,
Ronald

Dmitry,

I was thinking ...

I can make a brief description of what I am doing. I need to set new knife to make pictures because I make One-Of-A-Kind knifes. This time I set two in the same style to check up my design idea. I never ever made this kind of a knife(s) before. And honestly I don't know what next one would be like...
But I'll keep in mind to make few pictures next time and write some words.;)

BTW. I have one knife in Norvegian style in my plans. Would you like to be my judge and expert?
