A couple of weeks back I sent my plain ole' RAM and some stabilized maple burl to Mr Dobson for a little wood working magic.

The new scales are a little thicker than I was expecting them to be, but they fill the palm nicely and keeps my from putting my thumb on the lock button when I'm trying to open and still allow me easy access to the lock.

The only other thing I'm thinking about is polishing the grip screws to a shine to match the blade and the grip. What do think? Should I go for it or leave it as is?

He did a nice job . Really like the maple burl for the scales. I prefer the screws as they are with the black oxide coating. If you know the size of the screws you might be able to order them in Stainless. Enjoy your knife and its unique look.

Interesting project. That wood is very nice. I'd leave the screws the way they are, but it wouldn't hurt to swap out some different hardware to see what it looks like.
