A little SAK tale for the 4th

I received my new Vic Compact about a month ago but had stopped carrying it as it never seemed to stay put in my pocket. Last week I finally made a small lanyard to make it easier to reel in so I've been EDCing it all week. Well, in the span of just a few hours at a 4th of July parade and picnic I was reminded just how indispensable a SAK truly is. On the way to the parade I used the mini screwdriver to tighten my sunglasses, at the parade I used the scissors to open the Flavor Ice pops that were handed out to the kids, at the picnic I used the knife to cut up some hot dogs, and I even got to use the combo tool to open a giant can of baked beans (the regular SAK can opener works much faster but this one still did the job). If I hadn't started carrying that knife again this week I would have been out of luck today. Now if only I had a European model with the built in lighter I could use it again tonight for fireworks!

Sounds like you and your knife had a good time, mugwump! I had to do some rope cutting at the parade my girlfriend and her family took me too, and with my Griptilian on me I felt a little...Ramboish. I also realized that the locking blade has not helped me ONCE as long as I've had it, so I dropped it out of my EDC and my Explorer is a lone rider. I used it yesterday to cut some number/letter stickers for my friend who works at Subway to put on the "hours" sign.
