This is an excerpt from the flea market post on the KE Bushie I just picked up from VASticks

Tuxedo KE Bushie...

KE Bushie is 1/8" 01. It has been used only once in the kitchen then cleaned up. I did remove the secondary edge and it now has a razor sharp convex edge. With leather sheath, shipped and paypal'd sold

I had the knife out earlier working on a project, and He certainly wasn't kidding, it sure has a very nice edge :)

Very nice, that near full grind spalted pattern is fantastic. I don't think there is a FB that does not look good in a tuxedo configuration.

Yeah, ever since I've had a couple of full grinds, which I used to love, I have learned my favorite is this style grind height. I like being able to see the spalting.

Nice looking blade, mist. I might've overlooked the bushie....

Of which I am eternally thankful! :D

VASticks is good folk. Nice work on that Bushie. Looking good Mist!

He really is. It was my first time doing business with him, and the downside of the flea market thread is that I can't give him the good feedback in the itrader that he deserves. It was a great transaction, and would gladly do business with him again. I was pretty sure I would really like the convex version when I gifted the scandi I had, and I was right. I love the way it handles and cuts. The no-guard thing might be odd for some folks to get used to, but I usually have the pommel in the palm of my hand if I am pushing hard in boring holes or other tip work, so I don't have any issues with it. In Scandinavia this would be considered an adult knife :)

Mistwalker,

Your photos are always an amazing blend of composition, light, and focus. That is a great looking knife. I am glad that it worked out so well for you and VA Sticks.

I don't have a KE Bushie, but I recently got a convex Arete. In some picture angles, those two models look very similar in size and shape.

Thanks for the compliments Phil! I had one of the first KE Bushies, and really liked the size and shape, but soon learned I am not the biggest fan of scandies. I have been wanting to pick one up for a while, and this one came along at the perfect time. The are pretty similar I think. I have never used an Arete, but the main differences I think are that the Arete has more of a guard, and the blade is less pointy. I just so happen to really like pointy :)

Man, I logged on to get my nightly Fiddleback Forum Fix and I saw this thread with my name in it. Thanks for the kind words Mistwalker and Thurin! I agree with Comprehensivist - Mistwalker your photographizin always looks good. You know how to bring the knives to life in your pics.
I'm glad you are happy with the KE Bushie. Can't wait to see more pics as you put it through the paces.

Eh, just telling it like it is man. Thanks man, I appreciate the compliments. I'm glad you made me think about it again Friday, I had looked at it a couple of times. I love the way the spalting pops in the photos of this one, there will be morte pics to come :)

Since you are over 12 years old you should be fine ;) We normally start out early with fixed blades here :D

Great knife and pics btw:thumbup:

Well, over 12 chronologically yes :) Yep, got my firat fixed blade when I was six, but over here only kitchen knives had no guard at the time. Anything with a belt sheath, other than the Rapala fillet knives and a the few Normark knives I had, all had guards. My mother had issues with the guardless knives, it's all her fault it took me a while to get back to them :o

Thanks man, I've liked this model since the first one a few years ago. I am apparently much more ok with the Scandinavian absence of guard than the Scandinavian grind :D
