Hello again fellow CRK addicts, enthusiasts, collectors, users, and friends.

I just recently acquired the Small Spirograph 21 in the pics below off of the exchange and although it's slightly used its just perfect to me. I've had it for almost a week and just finally had a chance to compare the pattern to my Spirograph Mnandi. I'm very pleased with the 21, it has the "older" style pattern that I had on a Large UG Regular( that I should've never sold ) which is the knife that started my love of DT's Spirograph pattern.
Since I had those two out I figured that i'd snap a few pics with my phone to share with my fellow CRK enthusiast's, please forgive the sorry quality of the photos.
I decided to add my Large UG Ol Glory into the pics as those three knives together consist of my entire collection of CRK/DT Damascus knives.

In case anybody is wondering, the Small Spiro is going to be my user on small knife days. Although I almost never have small knife days I've found an excuse to carry it everyday this week :D

I hope that you all enjoy the pics

Those are beauties!

Not intending any disrespect to the people who make Devin Thomas Damascus (if that is Devin himself or helpers), as is clearly is a difficult thing to do, but do these older patterns not look like they were trying harder? Or is it CRK is not purchasing the top shelf product from them? Maybe settling for a lower grade?

I dunno, these old DT patterns always look so crisp.

Thank you.

I agree, crisp is a good word for it.
The patterns on the Raindrop, Ladder, and Spirograph appear MUCH tighter on the older stuff; I just assumed that he folded the steel many, many more times.
I haven't a clue as to wether or not he sells different grades or if he makes more for less folds, or is just trying to keep up with demand- I'd never mean to insult the man by pretending to know anything about his business but I sure wish that he'd make the patterns tighter like they used to be.

My favorite pattern! Is this a recent release?

Bill,
IF you're referring to the Spirograph pattern I'm sorry to say that it was discontinued some time ago. They occasionally pop up on the second hand market or in the exchange but you have to be quick !

Killin' it Rich, happy to see the new addition. I've gotten in some new Raindrops, I should put up a follow-up post. Anyways, beautiful knives. Great knives that couldn't go to a nicer guy. Now hit me up with some Mammoth Bark damnit ,lol :) Take care.

Thanks Ryan,

Now let's see those Raindrop blades !
Better yet, Raindrop and Mammoth Ivory !

Yes,..the spirograph pattern..but it's actually right behind the Zebra..Out of the two, the spirograph is probably the most likely to return though.
One could surmise that I had some hope...apparently not.

Thanks for that!..disappointed, but I will live. More money for something else.

Wish they would bring Spirograph back...never understood why it was discoed?

Great stuff Brohammie. Your collection is growing nicely.
As far as Spirogragh Damascus goes, I believe it's Rob Thomas, not Devin, that is producing it now. Chris would never buy a low grade of steel for his knives. The steel makeup of the Thomas's Damascus is one of best in the industry. Though the patterns might vary in looks, it is still top shelf.

Thank you my Brother.
I'm carrying this one everyday, but you knew that already.
I'll trade you for that stainless chassis feather damascus Troodon though :D

Me too, it's my favorite by far.
I really like the ladder pattern and the basketweave but the Basketweave has to be the old style.
I'm getting used to the raindrop pattern as well but it's one of my last choices in the damascus CRK has offered.

The one that I wish they'd offer would be the Reptilian pattern, that'd be superb with CF, Ebony, or even a plain handle.

Thank you my Brother.

Great collection brother.
Super impressed by the Dama.
I seriously need to get me a CRK again. I certainly miss my 21 alot!

Beautiful knives and photos, thank you for sharing them and congrats on two excellent pieces.

Thank you very much.

When you buy another one, and you know that you will, try out a damascus model- it gets crazy sharp !

The 21 was bought to be a user. It's been a long time since I had a Damascus CRK user, or carried a small as my edc. Your user damascus threads have had me thinking long and hard about getting another one and using it just like any other CRK that I carry - when this one popped up I had to grab it, and, I couldn't be happier with it.

I read somewhere in your thread where you say that they get "sticky sharp" and I couldn't agree more.
The Large Reg Spiro that I used to use was polished so it didn't feel so sticky but this small would make a scalpel seem about as sharp as a brick in comparison.

Anybody who hasn't tried out a CRK with damascus on it really should give it a go.
