Hi Everybody,

So I see everyone stippling things, especially plastic guns.

I have done a Glock or two and some others, I even got paid to stipple a XDM for nation shooting champ :)

Some of you may remember the rubber handles I did on some Scrapyard knives ?

I had some real operator friends (EOD and SEAL's) convince me to play COD on PS3 (video game for you old hogs) and I found the controller slipping all the time so yep, I stippled it to :)

I have developed a few patterns and styles

I got a new Galaxy smart phone but, it was like holding a bar of soap some out comes the burner.

Well I got the idea and have never seen it done before to stipple some of my sheaths.

Turned out pretty cool I think.

You could probably get some cool-looking visual effects in there, much the same way the different layers of G10 in knife handles look when they're contoured or milled.

Stipple, fill the holes with some other material, sand smooth? Or stipple further?

Very cool looking David! I like the handle work :) that would always annoy me about PS, the controllers would fly across the room, and not just from me throwing them.

Bored, Dave?

But seriously, i'm curious too, can you post of pic of you doing it so we can get a glimpse of the tools/techniques.

Wouldn't ask if it weren't really cool!

I used a wood burner I got at ACE hardware for about 30.00, I got the super deluxe version.
The wal-mart ones only come with about 4 or 5 tips.

The fine stuff takes forever, & I mean forever. the little bit on the Glock about 1.5 to 2 hrs and I was moving fast.

You can practice on plastic handled screw drivers, kydex, game controllers :).
Just go slow and do not press too hard.

Not Bored, just need to create stuff, I never tier of doing new innovative things.

Just takes lots of practice and a artistic eye.

On a side note, I would appreciate the sheath thing be my style/thing to market, If you are doing it for your own personal use that's cool, but flame overlays, talon hole secure holes, exposed spine sheaths and the other ideas I share/come up with and work hard doing it. are what I come up with to make my products unique in my field, and would love to not have someone compete with my business marketing/doing what I originally created. Thanks

but if I can help with any other questions please let me know.

Oh and one more thing ventilate, some of these burning plastic can be bad bad news.
I think kydex can be deadly.

That looks great Dave! I like the idea of stippling on the game controller. Where are the pictures of what you did to your phone?
