Picked up a couple things at MEC the other day for a picnic (She and I seem to not see each other enough and when we do its wedding planning so we took a day to have a real date, museums and sport climbing, great day!)

The first item is the Platypus Platypreserve Wine Preservation System, very highbrow name for a bag with a stopper. http://www.platypreserve.com/ It's what I'd consider the new generation of a wine skin, with a couple differences. It stands when mostly full, is easy to pour from, and seems to clean out very well. They claim that with proper use a bottle of wine will stay fresh for up to three weeks, not sure open wine would last that long around me...
At the very least it saves from having to pack the bottle in and out, but I think I'll be getting quite a lot of use out it.

next are the GSI stemless wine glasses.http://gsioutdoors.com/detail.aspx?c=15&sc2=48&p=79320& These are cool, odd shaped, and very stable. The bottom contours look at first glance to be unstable, but the ring around the bottom will actually prop the glass on an angle which is neat. They are designed to also sit well on gravel or sand. Available in both plastic (which I have) and stainless. They are a little small to get a good swirl going, but that's ok with me.

I like that Platypus, got one for my sister for her birthday.

Never had a bottle of wine last that long around me as well.

I really want one of the wine bags, but last time I just put the wine in a 1L Aquafina bottle, which was fine, though I don't think it was more than a $15 bottle or so. I think if it was an expensive bottle, I would have had to pack the bottle AND some real glasses.:D

They are pretty neat. Basically just opaque versions of their water bags, which are also awesome. I drink a lot of water, and the water at my last job in the Atlanta city limits was foul, so I used one of their 4L water bags to take in filtered water. It held up to a couple of years of use and abuse just fine. I do wish that they would do something better than their zip closure though, since it is hard to tell if it is completely closed at times and can open upon impact.

I haven't used their water bags, my water carry is an MSR dromedary bag. I like that it is designed to not absorb any flavors, unlike many other plastics.
