Today I went for a walk in the Alpine.North of town there is a road maintained to the mountaintop The reason for that road today is it goes up top for communication towers. There is a sweet little unknown trail that takes off from one switchback on the road and meets up with an old horsetrail that also led to the mountain top from the last century for mining exploration.Basically you can drive quite high upslope and be in the alpine very quick, saving many hours walking.A very nice cheat
Smoke from distant forest fires have been makiing it hard to see lately.
The flowers uptop are about done for the season this year has been very dry
Partridge foot
Arnica
Lousewort
There were lots of flowers finished for the season. Many alpine daisies valerian pasquee and globe flowers and white and pink heather all dried up and or finished for the season.
I spent around 4 hours wandering off trail looking at scenery and wildlife. There is at this time birds heading south including may species of hawks.Heres a few more scenery
I had a fine day with the dog hoboing around up there
Thanks for looking
