Not so long ago, and I cannot remember who but someone said it and now its come true. Here was the quote, Para-phrased of course. " You know a couple of years down the line smoky mountain knife works will all the sudden find a bunch of usa made schrades" and you know what they did. But if you read the small print they were pre 2004 but assembled later, either way... Oh well they are usa and they are schrade so I guess I cant complain too much but you know this is no where near over give em a few more years and see what shows up. Right now mostly the safety grip fillet knives and hunting knives few x- timers- Joel

I use a set of Safe-T-Grip knives as my kitchen knives. As far as assembly, that single brass grommet in the handle holds the whole shebang together, so as long as the blade was properly finished and the handle wasn't installed upside down, these knives could be a decent deal.

I am not surprised at their finding more pieces to assemble. SMKW and BRK split tractor trailer loads of WIP from the auction. Maybe they are getting to the bottom pallets now, six years later, but they may have more stuff in the wings. SMKW owner Kevin Pipes is a salesman for sure, but for the most part honest.

I have most of the safety grip knives and I do love them. I use mine mostly in the kitchen as well! $4.99 for the fillets is a good deal I will not deny. I will order a couple and let you guys know how the finish is- Joel

Joel, that would be a "warehouse find" As SMKW would say, plastered across SMKW catalogues from time to time.
