Well I went for a walk today, and living in the middle of the cities historic shopping district I am in no shortage of antique/consignment stores. Todays catch totals 3 vintage slip joints and one modern flipper (strange that I found it in an antique store). To stay on track, I'll leave the tactical knife out of this post. I got a Robert Klass Kissing Crane in ebony with "lots of character," a Western brand that has almost every last inch of life taken from it and what looks like jigged bone, and lastly a Gottlieb Hammesfahr in actually pretty good shape. It has MOP scales, blades are good, and shows moderate wear. This last one is the nicest of the bunch, and having paid only very little for all three, I feel ok about the others being in such poor condition.
Now for the pics...
Robert Klaas
Western
Stamp says "442"
Gottlieb Hammesfahr
Now I don't know the names of patterns very well, sometimes it seems the handle dictates the pattern name and other times the blade(s) and even yet the combo of the two can change things. So if you could help fill in the blanks for me that would be great. I almost feel bad about buying the western and R.Klaas but I would of felt worse if they just got thrown in the trash. I took only limited pics right now (mostly for records keeping), but if anyone wants to see better pics let me know an I will try to get some.
Cheers
