Here's a machete I made for my Mom's Cousin's Husband. I know I need to finish my blades a little better, but this one sure works well. O-1 blade with black walnut handles.

Great looking machete there! I'm surprised no one has commented on it yet, so let me be the first to congratulate you.

Why did you go with the kukri-type blade profile, vs. the traditional machete type? It looks good, I must say.

I was going for a boloish feel with this one. 18 inches long is about the limit for me now, so I wanted it weighted forward. This is my first machete, and I really like how it turned out! I like having that recurve with the forward swell. It feels like it really bites into whatever you're chopping up!

I wanted to add that it curved forward a little in the heat treat, which gives it a more kukurish look and feel.
