The eloquent crudity of it . I wish I could not agree with it .There have been bosses who have tried to beat it into me . " If you don,t want the whip on your back then it is you who must do the whipping." one of them said . I walked away from that job .

I know some of these words have been poured down your gullet before . The original quote heard tonite stimulated this .

I can no more be a master than I can be a slave. Even as I write it I see what a fence sitting , sore crotch position that must seem to some .

I guess its the Irish in me . A backround of listening to tales of revolt in the old country . A childhood of closer to home civil civil unrest . mailbox bombings , kidnappings and a murder . Not too civil . It just born in me a wish to be left alone . To my cost for the moment . I hope to become stronger for it .

Not to be told what language to speak or to climb to success on the backs of others . It sounds pretty idealistic and hopeless to me . I like dogs. I don,t like to think of the world wagging its tail for anything .

It is said the world is of our choosing . So far I have made my choice . I don,t want to play the victim. I feel good in a way . The rules are defined . It is that there are no rules except the ones we make .

I like most dogs better than I do most people. A dog might try to steal your dinner, but he ain't deceitful, he's just hungry.

Kevin, I thought I'd tell you that I've really come to enjoy these little bits of insight. I feel I agree with a great deal of what you say.

Thanks,

Chris

Thank you Chris . I do have to admit that I post so as to gain new perspective by garnering what I can from the views of others .

Sarge often puts things in proportion for me . Sometimes I get wrapped up in my own little world and its micro-climate of personal beliefs .

I do not regret the class of fellows I worked with . It helped to refer to their seeing to their needs as dogs see to theirs . Just basic drives as opposed to loftier yet perhaps less practical goals .

I spoke with a person who said if everone just saw to their own needs then the world would be a better place . I told this person that it just sounded like dogs snarling over who gets the last piece of putrid meat .

That is how I came to see some of those I worked with . Steal , injure or worse for a five dollar an hour raise .

I agree entirly Kevin, I dont think anyone can be truely happy as master or slave. The again all generalizations are wrong, so it might just be me. I have no desire to rule or be ruled, unfortunatly those who want to rule often are the worst possible people to do so.
