So, as the title states, I think I may have to become a man of three knives. I love carrying a fixed blade and a folder, but now I may have to start carrying a fixed and two folders. The reason for this is because Coolio ~ Brad ~ just sent me a beauty of a peanut that is just begging for me to use it.

I had commented on his red bone Case knives and a week or so later Brad pmed me asking for my info. He had two beautiful p'nuts and he decided to send me the minty. Brad thank you for keeping from from hiding in the bushes. :D He included a note, and a pic of his family, that congratulated me on the birth of my coming lil girl. Thank you for letting me see your wonderful family. Certainly one to be proud of my friend.

The Case XX 10 Dot is a beauty! Thank you Brad for the thoughtful gift my friend. I have always wanted a peanut just like the one you have graciously gifted. I was actually hunting for one after seeing yours. It will be with me a long time. My grandkids will know how I received this one.

So in short, I am truly thankful for the thought and gift Brad and that you have given me a reason to carry three knives! Oh, this is my only peanut, not my first, but certainly will be my best. :)

That is a significant Peanut in so many ways!
Nice going Brad - a wonderful gift it is!
Just beautiful Brett - you are a lucky man!!

I am lucky in so many ways it is countless Charlie. :D
You are right, it is a significant p'nut and Im grateful.

Well, I am glad to be a part of something as special as the porch is. As I told Brett in a pm, I am a better person for visiting this forum most every day. I have learned factual, knife related things, and I have learned about kindness and friendship. Good karma Brett! And great to see someone who can actually photograph that 1970 10-dot beauty! Not long and you can use it to cut up grapes and other foods for a tiny mouth.:)

Here's Brett's (upper) and my (lower) matching peanut, brothers from 1970:

Very nice of you Brad. Those are some nice peanuts! Congrats on the present Brett!

Gorgeous "peanut" such beautiful red bone:cool:

Congrats Brett and fantastic gesture Brad:thumbup:

A peanut for your forthcoming peanut when she gets old enough to carry a peanut:D

Super special on so many levels, Brad!!

Great to hear of it, Brett!! Just a super knife!

I've love seeing these posts of the "traditional" kindness here. That is a beautiful example of Case quality and a peanut to boot!

Great gift Brad and a congrats in many ways Brett.

Congratulations on a beautiful knife, Brett. I think it's awesome that you came back and immediately started giving out knives, and it's all coming back to you. Between this knife and your giveaway knife you're going to end up with a collection full of knives that have twins scattered all across the country. :p I'm so glad that you've stopped back to rejoin us, and I know that you'll be gone again soon as that beautiful new baby will be taking up your time. Congratulations on all of the great things that are happening in your life right now. I know that you are a man that truly appreciates your blessings, but I'm still going to remind you to do that.

Big kudos to Brad. I have noticed that in the short time you've been a member of this community your generosity has already become well known. I really admire your heart, and am grateful that you've found us. We're all better for it.

Brett, I have silently chuckled for some time about these guys that carry 3 (or more) knives. I just couldn't imagine why. And then, I realized one day, that I've always carry two, I've had a key chain SAK in my pocket consistently for 20 years, didn't occur to me to count it. OK, so I'm at two, big whoop. Not long after this, It's a Friday night, I've got my key ring SAK and a Case peanut in my right pocket, and a GEC radio jack in my left pocket! This hasn't happened since, but that night, I understood, and there are no silent chuckles anymore, I just read what the other guys post and I nod!

Brad - I actually had four if you count the leatherman squirt on my key ring :D
Thanks again buddy.

Thanks for the kind words and the reminders. They are always needed.

Very nice Brad! You and Brett make this a great place to hang out.

Congratulations Brett. Brad as much as you appreciate the porch your presence here is appreciated. Both of you personify what is so great about this place. Makes me proud, and humbled, to be here.

I also am a man of three knives, have the Leatherman wave on belt, and a folder in each front pocket, if I'm in the woods I replace one of the folder with a fixed blade.

I'll preemptively amend that to,

"I am glad to be a part of what makes the porch as special as it is."

Well done, Brad, and congratulations to you, KBA!

As I wrote elsewhere of what I've experienced and been inspired by, through the good hearts gathered here:

Possessions cannot prevent sorrow, nor produce lasting joy in and of themselves.

But sometimes, the right thing(s) at the right time can point towards (and tether us to) a deeper holding beyond our own means and days, lifting our heads and strengthening our hearts, making us laugh (and maybe cry) and marvel at pocketable friendship made real once again.

At least, that's what I've come to know, often through the astounding generosity of others here. I don't even have to be the direct recipient; you all make me better.
