A Marketing/Fundraising idea for consideration

I would like to propose a Marketing/Fundraising idea for consideration and comment.

I propose that our corporate sponsors (Benchmade, Spyderco, Buck) offer special limited edition (Collectible) knives to AKTI members either directly or through AKTI.
Pricing should be such that the Company is not losing money and AKTI gets roughly what a Dealer/Retailer would normally get.

I would propose that quantities be limited to 2 knives per regular Ambassador(?) Member. I would allow the Silver and other "Premium" Members to purchase larger quantities for resale to non-AKTI customers.

Hopefully this would accomplish two things:

1. Raise funds for AKTI.

2. Increase interest in AKTI Membership.

My vote is for Benchmade if you could come up with a limited edition of around 100 knives for around $100 each. Then maybe when they are sold, you could move onto the next promotion. Even people could get involved in deciding which knife to use as this very special first edition rendition. The more you limit something, the more interest it draws and it creates quite a bit of demand. Thanks, JohnR7 WWW.BalisongKnife.Com

Thanks for the ideas guys - I've copied and forwarded them to the board - we have a meeting coming up in Sept. and hope we'll have time to discuss them.
