My normal haunts are swords of America during the growing years. The last actual sword I adopted Is a European briquet handle on a cut down blades of the early 1800s, or perhaps the decade ending the 18th century.
I can't place the blade. It would have been half a foot longer and I would suspect from a rather formidable cavalry palasch type.
The terminus of the remaining blue is of an earlier fashion. I would think a British made blade, after the AR and the briquet grip possibly Spanish. The brass has been distressed in a manner that was perhaps to give it a better grip. A boat anchor cutlass feeling thing. I can see it poking out of a corner pile as I type.
Strange brew.
I must be about to adopt something new but I always adore the last in (until something new arrives).
Cheers
