Well I did it today, ordered a Mayo TNT. Until PiterM opened my eyes to it in his thread with the beautiful pics, I was not inclined to but one. It just didn't look right in the knife sites. I am looking forward to getting it into my hands.

G.W., please let us know how you like it. I am considering one myself (also due to pics of PiterM's modified 172). Do you plan to EDC this folder?

My first impression in handling one a few months back was that it was thinly ground -- which is great for cutting ability :D , but maybe not so great for tip strength :( . I wonder if any of these knives has ever lost its tip?

(I ask because I am really cautious with my 110s after one lost a tip.)

Thanks, -Alex

S30V is the toughest stainless ever developed, so we grind them thin for a reason and without worry............it can take the heat!

And BUCK backs up their knives 110%

Yes, I will file a report on my findings.
I plan to use this knife as a medium duty carry.
Should be in my hands first part of the week.

Hey Tom, thanks for your input. I really have to hand it to you on this knife. Simply awesome. Glad to know the great slicer will also work for other uses in a pinch.

I have a request while you are wringing this one out - please try it out left handed too. I am VERY left handed and I am concerned about the possibility of disengaging the lock while using. I would also like to know if works to open left handed. Thank you.

Oops! Sorry, after writing the above, I saw Daniel's post on the other Mayo thread. I'd still like all the lefty type info you can give me.

Bob,

I have had no problems with opening it or closing it one-handed. I have not released the lock either. I am also VERY left-handed and that is the first thing that I look for in a knife.

In fact, I have had many custom makers make "lefty" versions for me.

I can personally vouch for the left-handed friendly Buck Mayo. It is really a bargain and a great knife.

Daniel
