This is a hunter I made for a client/friend. The steel is D2, and it's hand finished to 800 grit. I heat treated in SS foil, in my Evenheat oven, then quenched with aluminum blocks. The guard is 416 SS, while the spacers and pins are nickel silver. The red spacer material is insulator material. The handle material is highly figured Mesquite wood, finished with Tru-Oil (Brownells). I'm having a small stamp made in the shape of a rocker, that I'll be using during the forging process to stamp my blades. The curve on the top of the spine is scaled down from one of my rockers, while the handle profile is from a combination of a Brazilian knife, and a Fisk knife.
Thanks for looking!

Yeah - beautiful handle! I definitely saw the Fisk influence so if that's what you were going for, I'd say you nailed it.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH I like it

I just put your knife on my wallpaer, hope you don't mind.
Did you do the pic? Very nice.

Thanks guys! I had a lot of fun with this one, although the hand sanding really took a long time. I made up some micarta blocks, and cut 1" strips of sandpaper to wrap around the blocks. Towards the end of the sanding job, I'd just "pull" the paper one time, then change it, and pull again, hundreds of times, rather enjoyable actually! Yes Mike, it's my photo. I just use the eclipse tool in photoshop to make the circles, size them place them where I want, and hit control C, then place the circle where I want it, and hit control V, and it's there. I then use the free transform tool to enlarge the photos. It's necessary to use the "layers" feature of photoshop to do this. The background paper we found at a scrapbook store, I loved the blue with the steel and Mesquite. I think I got the handle design basically from a Fisk Rojo knife, but need to check the name.
Thanks again for the comments guys! Means a lot :D

Man, all I can say is that you must have a very impressive stash of mesquite after all these years. You ol' dawg! ;)

That knife is fine as frog's hair, Rob! Say hey to the little ponies fer me! :)

Thank you Gib, Bruce, and Jeff! I am very proud of this knife. I've been trying hard for a long time to get something to click and fall in place, and I believe it has. I've dubbed the knife "The Rocker", and will eventually have it's own rocker stamp on the next ones. I'll change the steel around, but will stay with the Mesquite, and some form of spacers. That being said, the pride I have in the knife and it's design, doesn't hold a candle to the pride I have from all of these comments from you guys.
