I made a reply on the Eurostar thread but what I said was not anti-Europe or anti-British. I simply asked if a non-locking penknife was legal to carry in Europe. If my question was offensive to you then I must apologize.
However...I HAVE been very critical of some of the knife laws in my own state of California (very much so, in fact). I've also asked almost the same question about legality in Japan.
I can travel with or without a knife, but I usually would like to have a pen knife to open packages, and a pen and a comb as well.
I have very good friends in Europe (non-knife), so my question was obviously not meant to be offensive. It disturbs me that my question would make you sick and contribute to you no longer posting in this forum.
I realize you probably won't read this post, but perhaps one of your friends will, and can pass the word along.
Jim
