Last night after Lisa got in I went to up to Rembrandt's and then went for a walk along the River Walk.

When I got out to the bridge in the distance, roughly center left in this picture...

I turned and took this shot....and then cropped it down. In this shot is a Bakery, a private residence, a restaurant, a B&B, and the entrance to an art garden (lower right). There is also a fake owl on a chimney lol.

Some shots taken down along the river walk.

The only light in this pic was the phone and just a little bit of dappled light from a street light shining through the juniper trees... and that is why the phone is so bright...the back light was on for 5 seconds of a thirty second exposure. Looking at it without the light from the phone I could barely see any reflection from the cap.

Not a lot to see or photo in the dark down that way so I turned around and went the other direction for a while. I really love this house/bakery. When I had first took a couple of photos of this area earlier the lights in the house were off, about midnight or so it just lit up...made better pics.

Looking at the winding stair I'd just came down a few minutes before, and another perspective on the Walnut St. Bridge. I didn't think these two turned out to bad to be "off-hand" with a slow shutter an opened aperture.

and then look back down the way I had just come.

Beautiful pics! That 4th to last one of the house is incredible and almost looks like an HDR photo

Great shots Mist - looks like you are putting that new Nikon to work!

Those are wicked pictures mistwalker. I really like the house/bakery as well and the winding stair.

Thanks guys, glad you enjoyed the shots.

This is in Chattanooga TN.

Great shots Mist - looks like you are putting that new Nikon to work!

Thanks Ken.

Did you use a tripod for any of those shots?
I'm guessing you had to bump up the ISO, there is a lot of noise in the really dark pics.

Tripod + Longer exposure, while keeping the ISO as low as possible helped me get some cleaner night time shots.

BTW. The house shot looks like a great HDR pic.

I think I'm missing the point here. I only see that HEST and it's enough to make me drool

I used a tripod for some of them. The ones with the most noise were the ones taken from the furthest away or where I wanted to show as much distance as possible...the river walk is about 8 miles long and I was trying to see how far I could see with long exposures. The lighting and distance varies so much here none of the settings remain the same for long as I am still learning what it will do.

Yeah, that one has become a near constant companion.
