Work today was one of those interesting projects that took me to one of my favorite places…the woods of Walden’s Ridge. Today I drove along dirt roads, walked along wooded paths, hiked through unmarked forests, through field, and beside streams and ponds. I thought I’d share some of the pictures I took while I was out there.

There were some nice snacks along the way.

I found this little fellow just laying in the middle of a dirt road.

And lots of these along the side of the road.

And I found a burl on the side of that road that I was sort of drawn to…for some reason.

The view looking through the woods was nice so I went to look for a few pieces of fatwood.

Of course I have to post at least one knife picture…actually there were others but I can’t go there......

I came to a few fields. And had the oportunity to spook a couple of deer. If you ever want a deer's undivided attention just push the zoom button.

I worked my way over to Davis pond for a look around. The water was pretty brown, I suppose all of the storms churned it up pretty good….it’s not very deep along the edges.

There were a few clouds in the sky today but no rain.

The Cherry trees were completely bare.

But the Japanese Silverberries are coming along.

Great pics! I like that burl too...lol

What do you do that you get to be outdoors for work?

Cool pics of the deer, but I really want some of those berries right now..

Well, looks like I will be heading to my spot to get some tomorrow.

Oh...different things...sometimes it's writing, sometimes photography, sometimes it's for interior design...sometimes exterior design. I do custom woodworking and custom interiors in both homes and businesses.

Thanks. Those weren't quite as sweet as usual, but still pretty good.

Great outing! Nice pictures. My favorites were the deer in mid air--they are so graceful--and the warthorn. Looks right at home.

Wow, that looks exactly like my neck of the woods.

Great pics, thanks for sharing!

great pics brother!!!!!

Thanks man, glad you enjoyed them.

Thanks, the deer are always one of my favorites too I didn't think I had even managed to get that last shot...man she was hauling @$$ across that field. Yep, I thought it felt right at home too.

Thanks Tony, glad you liked them. These pics are in S.E. Tenneessee, where is you neck of the woods?

Hi all, Mistwalker it looks like a great time to be out in the woods there. That pic you took of the bug wow that was nice an clear. I am with Alex, that shot with the deer in the jump really is cool.
Did you harvest any fat wood?
I really like the patina on your Warthorn, I put a mustard and vinger on mine a couple of days back. ( wearing my orange handled one right now :D) . Them Warthorns seem to be just at home in the woods as they do in the urban setting .
How big is Davis pond? Have you done any fishing in it?

Bryan

Great pics buddy...nice work if ya can get it eh !!!!!

Thanks bro.

Well...it's not an every day thing. But I sure don't complain when it comes....well maybe breifly on those times I'm humping out a 60 pound hunk of wood. But nobody hears that but the bird and squirrels :D
