A Milestone - my first Puukko

I have always been enamoured with this kind of knife. I finally went ahead and made one after thinking about it for a couple of years. This one is for the Knife Show in May. Gotta figure out making the sheath too. After a lot of head-scratching I decided to do the hammer-forged finish. You can see a lot of ballpein hammer marks - I don't use a ball pein hammer for forging any more, its just for the effect. Comments welcomed, feedback appreciated. Thanks for looking. Jason.

Well done! :) I've always liked puukkos. Your's reinforces that. :D

I'm no Puukko expert, but I know a sweet little knife when I see one. ;) This is really nicely done Jason. Beautiful choice of wood for the handle and I really like the forge texture finish on the blade.

Cheers,

Roger

Jason - a beauty. What type of sheath will clothe your new creation?

Hmmm... not sure. I was hoping for a genuine Scandinavian style wrapped around sheath, but for now it may have to be a more simple welted pouch style, but I'll try to make the belt hanger more like a Scandinavian affair. Jason.

Jason, For some reason I never really liked the Puukko style but you've changed my mind. Beautiful knife as usual, Dave

Excellent work Jason (again)...

tell you what, when you make my Bowie (of which you dont know about yet), I would like the ballpein look on the flats!

Very interesting look mate! ;)

I think some of us can forget about those Scandanavian chaps because you're da man!! :) :)
