I recently picked up a modified Sus Scrofa and today I started working on making it into a smaller EDC blade. I always wanted a smaller SS to carry because of the useful blade shape. I cut about an inch off the front of the blade and then took the skull crusher off the rear. The flat edge was how the blade came to me and I love the way it feels now. Great EDC shape. Now I just need to finish it up and get some pants for it. Sure is an UGLY knife, but I think it will be a great one for carrying to work. Here are some comparison shots with a Game Warden for size reference. Please keep in mind that this is only roughed out. I still have lots of work to go before it is finished.

I am not done yet, I have only roughly cut the blade and rounded off the butt. I still need to clean up everything. So far only an hour involved. I expect several more hours getting it cleaned back up. I just roughed it out until I got the size I wanted.

the more i look at it the more it grow's on me. are you going to round off the top any more?

Don't think that had not crossed my mind many times. I almost took the nose off of her a time or two! I also was thinking about making it more stabby, like some the custom shop version.

I always kept it longer, because I had the GW for smaller carry.

Now, the question is, what are you going to do with the two sheaths that are too long?

The leather clip sheath would be easy to fix by just cutting the end off and re-stitching it. If you don't have any awls or leather tools, mark it, and I could cut it and re stitch it for you.

Glad to see it is being treated just how I would!

How much of the tip do you have left? If you cut it off in one piece, you should make a sharp finger, or a really tiny sharp finger, or tiny folder.

Yes. At first I was going to leave the original hump there, but now I don't like the way the line looks, so I will be rounding it down to the tip in a smooth curve. I need to even out the butt of the knife too and try to make it look a little better. The size it is now feels like it will work great. The full size choil and blade shape are two of the features I wanted in an EDC. I also love the Active Duty handles, so rounding the butt on this one will get me close.

Soupmonger's mod had just the tail removed, so it had the rear talon hole, and a straight edge.

It was the black and blue one.

I have not figured out what to do with the sheaths yet. I have been wanting to try my hand at leather making, so I might try to make a sheath myself. Once I fail a time or two at that, I have always had excellent luck with Chuddy Bear. I may also take you up on your offer to restitch the sheath you made for it. For right now, the original sheaths still work, but being as they are for the longer blade, they defeat the purpose of having the smaller knife for conceal ability.

I did cut the tip off in one piece, and have been thinking all afternoon about what to do with it. It is close to 1" of blade. I will come up with something for it. Something sharp.

As for blade shape, I also considered changing it to something more 'stabby,' but decided to keep the blade shape because I find it very useful for most tasks during the day. It will be next weekend before I get to do any more work on it, I might try and get some time after work this week but I doubt it. Busy week ahead at work.
