A missing step...

Hey everyone,

I've found my MT to be an excellent knife, with all the desired features: adequate length, thickness, edge-holding is superb, with reasonably excellent toughness... In fact, I'm starting to try to wrap a few of my full-tang knives with a Strider-style cord wrap.

However, I've noticed that the there's a missing step in the rewrapping instructions. Pictures from #1-3 don't seem to make any sense. I've tried it at least a dozen times and they all don't work out... Heck, I've even asked a couple of custom knifemakers and even they can't seem to make sense of it!

Can anyone help?

Please?

Much Thanks

Okay...

1. Take about twelve feet of cord, center it through the holes.

2. Take about six feet of cord, gut it and wrap it around the handle, starting at the guard end.

3. When you get to the second to last hole, cut it and stuff it under itself. Apply a drop of super glue.

4. Begin your wrap on the opposite side than the cord comes out of. ALWAYS make sure to keep the SAME cord on top. That way your knots come out even.

5. Keep making sure to keep the same cord on the top.

6. When you get to the second to last hole, tie a knot and add a drop of glue.

7. Wrap the ends around to the other side, stuff them through the lanyard hole, tie and glue.

8. Tie a very nice figure eight knot. Cut and burn the ends.

I think that’s it. I tried to keep my numbers even with those on the web page.

Hope it helps

Oh wow Mike! Yes, that helps heaps! Thank you!

So, it uses 2 lengths of cord! I never realised that, and I didn't want to wreck my only perfect wrapped handle to find out! Thank you very much!

One question still remains:

How did you come up with the design in the first place?

Much Thanks from the Ever grateful,

Happy now! :D:D:D:D:D
