I haven't owned a Buck knife in years. I'm looking at getting a modern folder that's USA made and is durable.

Features:
USA made
Good steel
Pock clip (preferably tip down)
4 inch handle

what type of handle material, G-10?

Here is a 095 Csar-T,brute of a knife-this one is ats-34 but I think the newer ones are 154cm

Handle material doesn't matter too much. Just looking for a good tough EDC. :)

Vantage Force Avid 846(2nd from top) machined aluminum handle sandvik 13c26

How is the build quality on these knives?

Well hands down the Csar-T is the toughest folder they make-IMHO-maybe made by anyone

I doubt I could EDC this at 8 ounces but I would like to have one. It does look might beastly. How does it carry?

Well, my buddy has the select(identical to top knife-and least of the blade steels-420hc) and uses it on his farm heavily. He has had his develop some blade play which I have corrected by disassembly and reassembly. Being a select model, it is not designed for what I would call industrial application-he should have the pro line. But, I dont see any real difference in the frame design. The pivot washers are likely stronger but I havent had any of my Pros apart to compare. Someone else may by able to answer that. I carried the 847(bottom) almost exclusively for around a year and other than the blade coating getting scratched, it is like new.

I pocket carry the csar and have removed the clip(I like big honkin folders and prefer the weight so I always know its there). My hands are to big to use pocket clips, cant get my hands in my pocket. The clip on the csar is as brutish as the rest of the knife and very stiff. I comes in a molle sheath for belt carry-I believe horizontal or vertical. I got one when they 1st came out and the molle wasnt offered at that time. I have heavy nylon that carries either orientation.

I could probably carry the Car in jeans but not the khakis I have to wear 5 days a week. I would have to get a lighter folder for that.

Spitfire is great for edc.

I will check that out.

Buck Marksman 830, not yet available. I have one on order.[/QUOTE]

I actually saw that one earlier and it really interests me.

P.S.

I am asking this as I'm looking for a good knife and good company to buy from. I thought Buck had gone overseas.

The vast majority of Buck Knives are made in the USA, a small percentage overseas in order to meet the price point for the big box stores etc...
If the blade says USA, then it is from here :)

Check out the Spitfire in person, before settling on it, I checked out a couple, and they just weren't rock solid.
aI love my Alpha Folder 279, carry it on the belt virtually everyday.
I also pocket carry a 271 Alpha Dorado almost everyday.
Both are rock solid modern folders.

However..... I am patiently waiting for the 830 Marksman! (I have one on pre-order)
At 4 oz, 154cm steel and the same size blade as the Alpha Folder, I can tell it will get a ton of edc time :)

Op was looking for a light weight pocket clip knife for edc of which alpha folder is neither.
Being that I work in a garage I use my spitfire for much more than a knife at times.its hold up as an edc for 8 months now. It can carried tip up or down and lh or rh.
Btw spitfire is half the cost of either. Alphas.
Don't get me wrong I love alphas I have quite a few. Just don't see it as the knife he was asking for.
