Well I finally caved and grabbed a BK16 for the upcoming season. I haven't been able to really put it through its paces yet, but I did test out its capabilities with carving, making feathersticks, debarking, and splitting kindling just a little bit in my backyard on a couple fallen branches before bringing it inside to peel a mango. So far I'm very impressed and glad I made the purchase finally! I'll try to get some pics of me beating on this thing when I can. What do you all use your Tweeners for?

I use my 16 on anything that needs to be: stabbed, carved, gutted, split, chopped, opened, cut, fileted, sliced and anything else a blade can do (and probably some things a blade shouldnt do as well, like get a piece of corn-on-the-cob out of my teeth:D)

My bk15 has become my EDC! I know that sounds crazy but I carry it in the stock sheath tucked in my pocket with my belt through the belt loop. It is actually fairly comfortable that way. Only thing that can happen is the snaps coming unbuttoned getting in and out of the truck. The BK15 is an excellent belt knife, and a good belt knife should be able to cover any cutting tasks. I carry it with a Vic farmer and Vic classic, or the awesome leatherman wave in the molle sheath. Pretty much covers all the bases when you throw in a BIC and a good flashlight. (streamlight stylus pro, maratac AAA.)

The bk15 has cut, carved, whittled, battoned, and is an excellent kitchen blade.
just shot some quick pics so you can see what I am talking about... and I love pics... and I bet yall do too!

If I am not pocket carrying it, this is how it is always set up...

the tweeners are great blades...

Love my 15, but, crap, could somebody tell KABAR how hideous the tan sheath is already??? I'd give my left nut for a black version of the sheath.

think i have to buy a tweener now.....maybe 2 or 3...

i need one of those max ped bottle carriers me thinks!!

i would go with the condor equivalent. they dont come in as many colors but the quality is good (when you consider the price), the front pocket is.a.little larger (but no elastic organizer straps in it like the maxped) and it has molle straps so u dont have.to buy the maxped tac-ties. the only reason i have a maxped is because of the foliage green color maxped has (it.doesnt look military-esque or tacticool which is what i want)

you and me both! after carrying a nalgene bottle through the park yesterday, I was thinking of getting one myself..

I bet that would be easy to dye black.

Looks great.
You guys make this so tough. I love my FPR sabre 16, but I can't decide if my next Tweener should be a 15 or a FFG 16. Will be getting one pretty soon for sure. Trouble is, if I get a 15, I'll surely need a 5...

I have been tempted to throw my sheath in with some black or green rit dye... I would have to see one done before I did it. I already dyed the brown scales super dark green... which looks great... but the sheath... I just dunno... I honestly think a kydex option would be the way to go, but I love having that pocket to carry those other tools in. UGH decisions.... LOL :D

Give in you will end up with all three anyway and if you are lucky you will have 4 with a sabre 16

 Exactly. That's what happened to me. I say just go ahead and do it and get it over with.

Yeah this drop point is awesome, but the more I look at the 15 and 17 the more I want them as well. I went with the 16 because I figured it would give me the most general utility, but now I want to pick up all three to decide for myself!

well, what are you waitin' for? It's not like online stores close! :D

Congrats on the 16. Enjoy it. Mine has become my go to Becker. You'll never find me in the woods or at the mall without it ;)

The 15, 16, and 17 are for me about as good as it gets. They fit my hand perfectly and do whatever task I give them well.
