Mr. Emerson—

First and most important, I’d like you to know how impressed I was with your recent apology. It was the right thing to do, but also immensely courageous.

As a result, I’ve decided to reexplore Emerson knives. My problem is I have small hands. Long ago I got a Mini A100. I’m not a fan of tanto blades or chisel grinds, but it’s been a while, so I’ll get a CQC 7 mini and check it out. There is another model in the size I’m looking for (can’t remember the name—Voyager?). I borrowed it from one of your employees at the Plaza Cutlery knife show, but it didn’t grab me.

I guess what I’m doing is asking if you would consider producing smaller models of some of your knives?

Thank you again for your fine work.

you know what they say about small hands don't you? :D
What is the problem you have? more surface=more grip=more fun??
The 7a as said is not a big knife at all, also the mini commander is pretty cool

Some good ideas. Thanks. I'm definitely interested in those Kershaw Emersons.

I'd like to get a Mini cqc7, plain edge, not combo, with a stonewashed blade rather than a black blade. Everyone seems to be out of this. If anyone knows a reliable dealer with stock, pm me. Otherwise I just wait!

Horseman is a nice smaller grip knife with a not so small blade. Very efficient and pocket-able. I've owned more Horsemen than any other EKI. CQC-10's are also very "grippable".

You should try a SOCFK-A. The blade is longer, but the handle feels smaller than the 7.

The mini 7, is pretty small as it is. The Traveller and Endeavor are also very small knives.

The mini 7 is a small knife. The other minis are closer to an average sized knife but still fit nicely in smaller hands.
Top to bottom. Cqc 10, Gentleman Jim, Horseman (mini 8), mini Commander, mini cqc 15.
The next photo shows the 10 and mini Commander with some other brands. The 10 is deceptively comfortable .

That it truly is IMHO. I so wish there were multiple blade options off that grip frame, such as a 7-like tanto. And while I'm playing amateur designer, how about a slightly extended tip on a Commander variant for a little more "pointiness" - I think that would improve it's EDC utility.

The ZT777 has a similar handle ;)

Not really, the 10/15/Roadhouse have the "2+2" grip style I find I really prefer, where you first two fingers and last two fingers each have flats to rest on. I also like that aspect of my Brous Blades Mini Division.

I would like to see more blade styles in the 10 handle as well.

And in regards to wanting a pointier Commander...Snake Commander (right at the beginning and again at the 2 minute mark)

They're a lot more similar to each other than your Brous, there is also the spine of the handle to take into consideration, which affects how your palm takes advantage of the leverage created. Quite often, I also hold my knives with my forefinger on the blade spine for more control. Thumb ramp, palm swell, they're very similar. The Brous Division's handle is closer to the Kershaw Tilt's.

Sorry for the hijack, I realize this doesn't contribute to the OP's situation, but I do agree that the CQC-10 has the most comfortable handle ergonomics of all my Emersons.
