Take a moment today to honor the 2402 Americans killed this day in an unprovoked attack that drug out nation into one of the most horrific wars where untold atrocities took place. A war that lead to the greatest generation of Americans this country has seen and the likes of determination and bravery we will probably not see again.

And a moment for the additional 400000 Americans killed and the 60000000 people killed world wide......

I spent some time working for a man who was a rescue boat pilot during the Pearl Harbor attack. We spent our lunch time watching coverage of the Gulf War, and he never failed to have a very unique perspective. He became a hero to me, and I was with him the day he passed. I will remember the fallen, I will remember the saved and I will remember the brave that carried on to save as many as possible.

Wonderful post. I was honored and lucky enough to meet and chat with a Pearl Harbor survivor. He was a member of a model train club, and they had a show day at Camp Atterbury, Indiana. Good man.

I'll pour one to the earth for my fallen brothers and have one myself to toast them.

Thank you for posting this, Jason. These men and women will never be forgotten.

Amen. Thanks for the reminder Jason.

Tom, sometimes when you're all "rear ends and elbows" you loose track of what day it is......:o

Wish there were more of them still around. The younger generations will miss out on the knowledge and experience of the Greatest Generation. We owe it to them to pass on what they taught us. I know I will make sure my children know and understand what people like their Great Grandfather went through.

May we never forget,
Garth

My HS baseball coach was a 5" passer in a magazine on the Oklahoma. He didn't talk about that day or any of the others all that much, but he did relate that there was a tremendous thud and a Chief stuck his head down the hatch and told them to "Get out, boys, while you can!" The OK rolled, trapping hundreds. 0___0 He and many of his crew just made it out.

Thank you Jason.
My Grandfather taught me to always remember.

We are going to Pearl Harbor next week to pay our Respects.... Wish we could have been there today.

Thank You Jason..........My Father who is a Survivor and I take care of never really speaks about that day only to remind me to never forget. We called my brother as we
do every year since he lives on Oahu and we talk for a few minutes before he places flowers at the Memorial and we say a prayer for the men my father knew who
lost their lives that day....Its a very solemn and moving moment and after all these years I still see the pain in my fathers eyes as he prays....Again to all my brothers
in arms past and present Never Forget....Semper Fi
