I like a big heavy knife, but I cannot readily carry a fixed blade large enough to suit me socially, putting the law aside (GA is an outdoorsman's paradise, but people are skittish). At least I can conceal a folding knife. I have a Voyager X2 but the handle in Zytel just looks out of place. For a knife that looks so much like a Navaja I feel that it needs maybe a wood, stag, or full metal handle. It would add much desired weight and style to an otherwise great knife. Could it be done?

I've rebuilt quite a few Cold Steel folders in the old days before I even had a computer so yes it can be done. Unfortunately I have no pictures of them to show you though. I actually started out rebuilding a lot of Cold Steel knives as some of my first pimp jobs. For one thing here in my area I see a lot of them around and I was once a very devout fan of their products. I still like quite a few of them but don't feel the same way as I used to obviously. They make a fine knife and the Voyager and Vaquero, as well as the Ultimate Hunter are some of the best bang for your buck in a heavy duty inexpensive folder for sure. Some of the higher dollar ones are quite nice also. I still think the Peerless liner lock they offer is among the best liner locks ever offered to the end line user.

Problem is right now I'm too busy as it is and can't take on any more work load except for smaller jobs until I catch up. Seems like everytime I start to catch back up something happens to throw me behind once again so now is not a good time for me at all regarding new jobs. But yes it can be done.
